Entry #2 The impact of Coronavirus

Coronavirus has rapidly made an impact in my life as well as everyone else in the world. When I first heard of it I did not want to believe it was as serious as people made it seem. It was not until close friends and relatives started showing symptoms that I started to worry and read more about this virus that had the world in a state of panic. This new virus made me realize how much things could change in the blink of an eye.

The first time I felt like Coronavirus made a relatively big change to my daily routine was when schools closed. It was my last semester of senior year in high school, I was excited to finally finish high school and do fun activities that you only experience in your last moments such as prom and graduation. I was extremely disappointed when I found out we were not coming back to school after spring break. Never in my life did I think I was not going to experience my last semester of senior year, let alone be in a pandemic.

Another challenge that completely affected my life was quarantine. One of my favorite things to do in my free time is hanging out with friends! When quarantine took that away from me I did not know how to keep myself entertained while being stuck at home all day. Hours felt like day, days felt like weeks and I never thought I would be able to go out again. My parents told me to stop working so I had to watch my money carefully since I was not going to be getting payed in a while. I was getting in a lot of fights with my family because they were the only people I would see all day, we spent too much time together. But when I finally accepted the situation, quarantine gave me the time that I needed to take care of myself by exercising, dancing, and even meditating, which was a new activity for me.

In this entry I hope to connect with my readers, making sure people know they are not the only ones struggling throughout this pandemic. I feel extremely lucky to be healthy in these times and hope everyone is following the safety precautions. Wear a mask!
